U.S. troops have been in Iraq since 2001, a nine year span of time. Currently, 50,000 soldiers are stationed to keep peace in dangerous neighborhoods, assuming the responsibility of the Iraqi Army until Iraq establishes its own army. Although the soldiers are assigned non military combat positions, they are still in constant danger. Until a full withdrawal expected to occur by the end of 2011 (agreed in a bilateral security pact), soldiers will remain in Iraq and continue to face the unexpected dangers of devastating bombings.

Satellite facility will offer general care as well as specialized services. The University of Southern California is doing all it can to help the community of La Cañada fight on. The Doctors of USC opened a clinic in La Cañada on Aug. 2 as part of the first step in creating a regional network of satellite offices in Los Angeles’ surrounding communities. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last week to commemorate the first satellite clinic’s opening.

Prep claims the title of League Champion once again! Saturday, October 30th the boys’ cross-country team swept League Finals at Pierce College, placing first in both the JV and Varsity races. Prep asserted itself as league champ by finishing seven runners in the top 15. This summer, five Prep seniors (Riley Wasson, Erin Fong, Naomi Hatanaka, Justin Farshidi, and Kyle Eschen) traveled to Managua, Nicaragua. It was the first half of an exchange program with students at Lincoln International Academy. During the three-week trip, the students stayed with host families and went to school with the host students, following their daily schedule.
