Wheelchair hoopsters hold court

St. Francis Christmas Toy Drive
St. Francis High School is holding its annual Christmas Toy Drive on December 13th from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. The community is invited to help us share the joy of Christmas with the families of St. Lawrence of Brindisi Parish in Watts, Los Angeles. If you are interested in participating, please drop off new, unwrapped toys at St. Francis High School for children in need. Thank you for your support and generosity!

Teacher who allegedly called student ‘Jew boy’ to keep her job
Megan O’Neil / La Canada Valley Sun: La Cañada High School math teacher Gabrielle Leko has been directed by district officials to participate in an individualized sensitivity and diversity training in response to a well-publicized complaint alleging that she used racial epithets such as “Jew boy” in her classroom. Tiffany Kelly / La Canada Valley Sun: District will accept Hillside credits: To the relief of parents who packed a board meeting Tuesday, La Cañada Unified students who take summer school courses at Hillside School and Learning Center will continue to have those credits count toward graduation — at least for now.
